Blackburn, one of the original founding teams of the football league, and Nottingham Forest, the two-time European Cup winners, are two of the most established names in the football league and always draw a strong crowd whenever they play.

In addition, this is an extra special night of celebration at Ewood Park as the club are opening a road (opposite the ground) to celebrate the incredible contribution Alan Shearer made whilst he played for the club between 1992 and 1996, when the club won the Premiership title and a host of other honours.

The new road will be known as Alan Shearer Way.

Alan Shearer, who will be a special guest for the evening, scored 130 goals in 171 appearances for Rovers, said he was delighted to have Alan Shearer Way named in his honour.

He said: “I am honoured and flattered that Blackburn with Darwen Council has named the new road after me.

“My time playing for Rovers and also being part of the team that won the title was an incredibly happy period of my life and I will always look back fondly on the time and the people that made it so special.”

This should be a fabulous evening and The Envelopes Works Group (consisting of Reel Envelopes in Blackburn and the Envelope Works and ACE Envelopes, which are both based in Earby), are incredibly proud to be part of such a memorable occasion!
